Jay Hill Obituary West Deptford NJ, Died After Car Accident

With heavy hearts, the Hill family announces the passing of Jay Hill, a lifelong resident of West Deptford, New Jersey, who tragically died following a car accident on Sunday, July 20, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed peacefully on Monday night at 9:19 p.m., after being removed from life support.

Jay, a proud graduate of West Deptford High School, was a devoted husband to Barbara Hofbauer Hill, a cherished son, and a dear friend to many. He lived his entire life in West Deptford, where he built strong connections through his warm personality, love for classic cars, and generous spirit.

Jay was deeply passionate about cars—especially his 1966 blue Chevy Nova, which he affectionately called his “pride and joy.” On Sunday, while returning home from a car event, Jay’s rear tire blew out while traveling on Route 295 near Exit 10. The sudden blowout caused him to lose control and crash into a guardrail. He was the only person involved in the accident.

He was airlifted by State Police helicopter to Cooper Hospital Trauma Center, where he remained unconscious. Despite undergoing several surgeries and battling through three cardiac arrests, doctors declared him brain dead two days later. His family, in an act of love and courage, made the heartbreaking decision to remove life support.

His father, Nob Hill, shared:
“We appreciate your prayers, concerns, and the love you have already shared with us. Jay died peacefully with his family by his side. At this time, we have not made any arrangements. They will be posted when completed.”

Jay’s life was marked by a quiet strength, a deep love for his family and friends, and a passion for the open road. He leaves behind a community of people who admired his dedication, kindness, and authenticity.

Details regarding his memorial service will be announced in the coming days.
